Breaking News: Tiger Woods issued a statement to the public this early evening, apologizing for actions and the bigger news... announces an absence from golf.
Tiger Woods personal life has been torn apart in the last month. Im sure we all know what happened, between the media and statements released, and if not it is not hard to find out. That being said I don't want to be repetitive and go over the coverage, because that has lead to so much personal headache for Tiger and a complete loss of privacy. It is hard to imagine being a world class athelete, and the fame that goes with it, especially when times are tough. Personally I would tell Tiger to focus on golf. Famous people and famous figures get over things like this, and one day the media will bleed out and he can come to some form of closure with his situation. Many people think Tiger should pick a big network and hold an interview. I agree with the fact that he must do an interview, but I don't think he has a debt to society and his fans. He doesn't need to explain anything. He needs to sculpt his life at home and make things right, and after hearing his statement issued today he is well on his way. Once he comes back from this and goes back to golf, I expect him to be more successfull than ever. Tiger is one of, maybe THE best golfer of all time, and in now way do I think the events of the past month will affect Tiger's play on the course. (after the absence from golf) NOW your thoughts...

Tough D lift the Browns over title defender Steelers
Thursday night the Cleveland Browns beat the Steelers, in what could prove to be the biggest upset of the 09' campaign. Watching the game, I saw a lot of follies in the Steel town offense. I have seen in the highlights ESPN going around, a play where Ben Rothlesburger wasnt ready for the snap. The offense is clearly out of sync only scoring a few feild goals in the game. That being said, if im a Steelers fan (which im not), I would be concerned, but confident that this will get turned around judging by a postgame interview. Mike Tomlin took the podium and the room was silent for the first 10 minutes other than the coach. He was almost in tears as he took the podium, giving his "cut to the chase" breakdown of the game. A clearly frustrated Tomlin talked about his teams third down play on Thursday night. The offensive line has had trouble protecting Big Ben and he is taking a record number of hits and hurries. Their offensive exectution was off, and the Steelers became the first Super Bowl champ to lose 5 straight games in the following season. ..... and NOW your thoughts!

Umpires in baseball and the 6 letter word!!
Replay... In todays competitive sports world referees and umpires are under more scrutiny everyday. With the recent follies and missed calls in the championship league series in baseball, many have brought up this 6 letter word... REPLAY. I belive video replay in baseball is a must. Games have been won and lost in the wrong ways by umpire errors. I would never agree with replay on balls and strikes. However, replay should be used for situations such as: fair and foul balls, base-running, and homeruns. Your thoughts....

Broncos stun Bengals with tipped pass...
On Sunday a heartbreaking silence cam down on Paul Brown Stadium. After a pass attempt to WR Brandon Marshal was tipped, Brandon Stokely found himself in a good spot. Stokley the 11 year veteran out of Southwestern-Louisiana caught the tipped pass and took it 87 yards to give the Broncos the lead 12-7. Stokely, having the the state of mind in the open field to run time off the clock, running parralel to the goal line, crossing the endzone with 11 seconds left in the closing period. Filling the T.V. shots with heartbroken Bengals players on the sideline watching as the game slips from their grasps. A low scoring affair, the Broncos had two previous field goals with 6 points, then watched while the Bengals put together a lengthy drive led by quarterback Carson Palmer putting 7 on the board. My question today is the Denver Broncos defense. Head Coach Josh McDaniels, a former defensive coach for the Patriots, brings a wealth of knowledge to this young quick Denver defense led by veteran Champ Bailey. In previous years the Bronco defense has struggled with one of the highest averages of yards per game. Is this the turning point? Was Pat Bowlen looking for a defensive spike in McDaniels to keep opponents low?? Your thoughts......
